wouldn't the self-limitation of god preclude god acting in history either with Israel or in the incarnation?

If I understand the concept of kenosis correctly it means that god emptied himself/herself/itself in(to) creation thereby accepting self-limitation. My question is wouldn't the self-limitation of god preclude god acting in history either with Israel or in the incarnation?

Response:I think the whole point about God’s self-limitation is that God sets the boundaries. So he clearly can and does act in history, but in a limited way that allows proper free will and free process.
