implications on indeterminism/causal openness of new research?

I am by no means a scientist, let alone a physicist, but I try to keep up with recent scientific discoveries and any religious/philosophical implications they may have. I recently read this article about new discoveries made into quantum mechanics and measurements. Do you or John have any thoughts on whether this discovery has any implications on indeterminism/causal openness?

Response: This is a very interesting paper scientifically and I remember reading it in Science.
But I don't think it has any religious implications. We know that both "wave" and "particle" descriptions are essentially approximations/metaphors for the rather more subtle underlying reality.
